Renewable Energy May Soon Power Cars!

The hunt is on for alternative fuel sources for the cars and trucks without which consumers simply can no longer live and commerce as it is known today would come to a grinding halt. Due to the availability of cars, entire bedroom communities have been created which would fall desolate if cars and transportation on wheels were no longer readily available or feasible. In the same vein, much of today’s commerce is heavily dependent on the trucking industry without which goods would stay at harbors and other areas where railway stations are not near.

This has caused some to doubt the feasibility of renewable energy for the use in vehicles and many will discount the protestations of those in the business of designing and manufacturing these energy source components for installation in vehicles. Some may have been put off by lectures proffered by environmentally conscious friends who might not have had all their facts in order, while others remember how much it cost to be the first on the block with the solar panels on the roof. Regardless what the current consumer mindset might be, the limitations which also need to be overcome are the reasoning of those in the business of transportation. Retrofitting an entire fleet of vehicles with renewable energy gadgetry is an expense that will not come easily to the vast majority of independent truckers and business owners, and without some iron clad facts and figures precious little will happen for the time being!

On the other hand, with the steadily increasing cost of gasoline and also diesel, many a fleet operator is openly flirting with the idea of incorporating renewable energy in an effort to render their business profitable without passing so many costs on to the consumer that will leave the latter quite possibly not be in a position to afford the goods being transported in the first place. Granted, the claims that renewable energy may soon power cars may be a bit optimistic, but with the continued dependence on foreign oil being the one aspect of current energy usage that most anyone in the know is trying to get away from, the odds of a change occurring industry wide is not only possible but also likely.

To counteract the damage done to the environment by car emission and other pollutants is another driving force in the fight for renewable energy sources as car power sources. Showing a lot of promise is the suggestion that a hydrogen system may be a useful intermittent step and with the idea of having an onboard hydrogen generator that will in fact lead to electrolysis of water floating on the Internet and in research cooperatives, the heat is on to be the first one to find that renewable energy source that will end the woes of those searching for answers. Others are looking to solar cell energy and even wind energy that may be harnessed at alternate sources and then stored, although these devices are still a long ways from becoming reality.
